Lion Sands River Lodge is situated in the game rich Sabi Sand Game Reserve in South Africa. This reserve is located next to the Kruger Park and forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park, South Africa. Lion Sands River Lodge is located on the banks of the Sabie River.
You can access this lodge in Sabi Sands Reserve easily by car from Johannesburg or plane. Charter flights are available to Skukuza Airport, Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) and Mala Mala Airfield. Road transfers to Lion Sands River Lodge can be arranged.
How to get there
Directions from Johannesburg, South Africa
Driving from Johannesburg, take the N12 / N4 highway towards the town of Nelspruit. From Nelspruit, take the R40 to Hazyview. Once you arrive in Hazyview, turn right onto the R536 towards the Paul Kruger Gate.
Continue along this road for about 38km (23.61 miles) and turn left into a gravel road signposted Lion Sands. Travel along the gravel road for about 2km (1.24 miles) and continue until you reach a T-junction. Turn right at the T-junction.
Drive for about 5km (3.10 miles) until you reach the Sabi Sand Gate, where you will have to pay an entrance fee per vehicle. After entering the reserve, drive straight and follow the signposts to Lion Sands. After about 2km (1.24 miles), turn right at the sign and follow the signs to Lion Sands River Lodge.
