From Johannesburg, take the N12 / N4 towards the town of Nelspruit. From Nelspruit, take the R40 to Hazyview. One you arrive in Hazyview, turn right onto the R536 towards the Paul Kruger Gate.
Drive for about 38km (23.61 miles) and turn left onto a gravel road signposted Lion Sands. Drive along this gravel road for about 2km (1.24 miles) until you reach a T-junction. Turn right at the T-junction and continue driving for another 5km (3.10 miles).
You will reach the Sabi Sand Gate, where you will have to pay an entrance fee per vehicle. Continue straight as signposted for Lion Sands for about 2km (1.24 miles). Turn right at the sign and follow the signposts to Lion Sands River Lodge. You will then be transferred to 1933 at Lion Sands.
